Sarah’s Big Idea is a personal blog written and edited by Sarah Riedl. For questions about this blog, please contact sarah(at)sarahsbigidea(dot)com.
Sarah’s Big Idea is a for-profit blog. It incorporates paid advertising and relevant affiliate links. That content will always be clearly marked as such. This blog abides by word of mouth marketing standards. I believe in honesty of relationship, opinion and identity. The compensation received may influence the advertising content, topics or posts made in this blog. That content, advertising space or post will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content.
The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely my own. I am not an expert, and I will only endorse products or services that I believe, based on my experience with said product or service, are worthy of such endorsement. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider. Extra precautions and additional research are always advised and Sarah’s Big Idea cannot be held responsible for your personal safety or the outcome of your home improvement undertakings.
This blog does contain content which might present a conflict of interest. This content will always be identified.

I allow third-party companies to serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit my website or mobile app. In order to provide advertisements about goods and services that are actually of interest to you, these companies may use non-personally identifiable information during your visits to this and other websites (information such as click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject or advertisements clicked or scrolled over — NOT things like your name, address, email address, or telephone number). These companies typically use a cookie or third party web beacon to collect this information.
I don’t sell or provide any of your contact information to outside companies, unless I have directly asked for your permission – like if you’ve won a giveaway and the vendor needs to ship your prize. If you comment with your email address in that area of the form, the address that you submit will never be passed along to anyone.
To learn more about this behavioral advertising practice or to opt-out of this type of advertising, you can visit http://www.networkadvertising.org/.
On being polite.

If you find media on Sarah’s Big Idea that has not been properly credited, please email me at Sarah(at)SarahsBigIdea(dot)com and I will do my best to rectify the situation.
Any photos not credited to an outside source have been taken by Sarah’s Big Idea and are rights protected. Failure to link back and credit Sarah’s Big Idea as their source constitutes a copyright violation.
I believe in sharing the love, so feel free to use an image here and there as long as they’re credited and accompanied by a link back to this site. Please contact me for express permission if you’d like to use more than a few of my photos. When it comes to text, duplicating is strictly prohibited (even if it’s credited back to Sarah’s Big Idea). Paraphrase if you want, but don’t copy-and-paste. I am the one-and-only. Go be your own one-and-only — there’s plenty of room in the world for all of us.
I moderate all comments, because it’s my blog and I can. So if your comment doesn’t appear right away, don’t panic. Give me 24 hours to get to it (it usually doesn’t take that long). I make good use of a spam filter, but occasionally it might eat an entirely appropriate comment. My apologies in advance if this happens to yours.
On appropriate comments: Be creative. Be critical. Be nice. Insults to a person or group of people are not allowed. For example, “Sarah, this project is stupid,” would be fine (not personal, see?). NOT ALLOWED would be, “Sarah, this project is stupid and you have bad taste” (see how it got personal at the end?). Also NOT ALLOWED: “You all have bad taste” (insulting to a whole group), or “You are rude/obnoxious for saying this project is stupid” (insulting to someone for appropriately expressing an opinion, even though we all know that opinion is wrong because all of my projects are ALWAYS AWESOME).
In other words: Don’t start a cat fight on my turf, mm-kay? If you’d like to express personal insults towards me, I’d be honored if you’d hop over to http://GetOffMyInternets.net/forums/design-blogs/ and start a thread for me. Any individual who repeatedly violates my comment policy, here on this blog, may have all future comments permanently blocked.
